Botox 101

Botox is often compared to a facelift. The Obviously difference is Botox is far less expensive, quick and painless and results are seen relatively fast. Botox injections (Botulism toxin), are injected under the skin to smooth out lines and wrinkles.

One important note regarding Botox is the price. Often times, Botox injections are advertised across a spectrum of prices, sometimes as low as $6.00 per unit. You’ll see other prices as high as $18.00 per unit. So what’s the difference? Well, Botox injections can be mixed with water, thereby diluting the actual Botox mixture. By this dilution, the longevity and effectiveness of the Botox injection(s) will be much less than if you were being injected with 100% Botox. Unfortunately, there’s a widespread variance among prices and actual Botox used for injections. We at Renaissance Cosmetic Laser offer our clients a number of options. Depending on what our client wants, how long the Botox should last, how much they would like to pay, etc., we offer 3 levels of Botox, each with differing levels of Botox. Prices range from $6-$18.  One of the first questions you need to ask your Doctor is “What percentage of Botox is used in your injections?”  The answer will tell you how long the results will last.  Afterall, you should get what you pay for, right?
